Islamic Civilization Park (Pulau Wan Man Terengganu Malaysia)

Taman Tamadun Islam is located on the Wan Man island in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. The whole Park complex consists of Crystal Mosque, Convention Hall, administrative buildings, and Monument Park. The gated Monument Park is the home of 21 world famous monuments in miniature.

The entrance of the Park (by road).

The Park can be reached by boat.
I am going to tell you about the Park and what to see and appreciate. To enter the Monument Park, you need to pay the entrance fee. Mind you, the ticket is in the form of a passport and it must be stamped on entry and exit.

Inside the Monument Park, there are 21 replicas of world famous monuments related to Islamic Civilisation. These include Masjidil Haram of Mecca, Masjid Negara of Malaysia, Taj Mahal of India, Dome of the Rock of Jerusalem, Sulaiman Mosque of Turkey, Alhamra of Spain, Aleppo Citadel and many more. To visit these replicas, if you are lazy to walk along 800-metre footpath linking these sites, you can use the transport like mini train, bicycles,or buggy cars for a small fee. So it is easier for disable visitors.

Five of these replicas have interactive displays. This means they have exhibition and screening rooms. It is like a museum by itself. Each screening room can accomodate around 60 persons at a time. The 8-minute video presentation in each of the five replicas is good, delivered in Malay language with English subtitles. The five are: Masjidil Haram, Alhambra, Dome of the Rock, Masjid Negara and Taj Mahal. I found the information and exhibits are interesting. It has histories, engineering, traditions and customs.

When you feel exhausted, you can sit on the bench provided. To quench your thirst, Wan Man Cafe at the entrance gate can offer you good drink. This cafe opens from 10 am to 7.00pm. Souvenirs can be bought at the souvenir and gift shops.

The Riverine Cafe's Entrance looks elegant and beautiful.

Outside the Monument Park, there are other attractions too: the glittering Crystal Mosque, the board walk, and the riverine cafe where you can have your food while enjoying the nice river promenade. The convention hall nearby offers facilities for seminar and conference even university convocation is held here. Now it becomes the wedding reception and photography location too.

The buggy car, one of the transport modes in the Park.

Those who wish to visit this place, there is a public bus plying from the town centre to this Park at regular intervals. Similarly, those who like adventure, there is a boat ride from the town. The Park is suitable for all especially those who value history and civilisation. Entrance fee is RM25 for adult (foreigner). For those in a tight programme,  allow at least 3 hours to really benefit the information of these replicas, enjoy the scenery and photograph taking. Note that, 1 km from here, the biggest Terengganu Museum offers more Terengganu artifacts for the public to learn and see. Happy Travel.
