When you visit Kuala Berang town, you will notice that (at the end of the bridge), there is a row of stalls on both sides of the road that are selling corn cob and groundnut. This place is well known by the locals. It is where you can get best corns in town. Most sellers are ladies. The business is sustainable by virtue of its existence for many years.
Located at a strategic junction, i.e. the junction where you can drive from Kuantan to Kota Bharu, bypassing Kuala Terengganu, the stalls are visible from far. Since the price of the products are reasonable, many motorists stop to buy this corn cob and groundnuts.

The corns are fresh. If you see the outer leaf is green and moist, it is new and fresh. If the leaf is getting yellow, it is not fresh and you can get cheaper. The price is around RM10.00 for a dozen. If you know how to bargain, you will get cheaper.

For the ground nuts, it is also coming from the farm nearby. They sell one ringgit per cup. If you are lazy to boil those corn and nuts, you can buy the cooked ones. I always buy the fresh corn cobs when I visited Kuala Berang. You can buy more to distribute to your family and friends. The corns also can be used for making bubur jagung (corn porridge), a traditional Malaysian dessert. Happy travelling.
