Marang Wet Market, Terengganu

Marang has a new wet market located near the jetty. Dark-red in colour, it looks nice with stalls for selling local food and fresh fish. Adjacent to this market, there is a separate shelter that sell fruits. Although there are many supermarkets around, and yet the wet market is still popular. It  becomes the place for local people to sell their products and earn a decent living.

The goods that are normally sold in the wet market are expected to be consumed on the day itself. There is no refrigerator like the supermarket. You can be sure what you buy here is in good condition be it fish, traditional snacks or local vegetables.

The fish is very fresh.

For the tourists, I think this market is worth visiting because you can get fresh fish especially in the morning. The atmosphere is cool. If you happen to stay at nearby chalets, why not have the experience of buying from this market and cook yourself at your chalets. This is a unique experience for foreigners who come to Terengganu. I tell you going to this kind of market, you can interact with the locals and understand their culture and tradition. Terengganu people are lovely people. Happy travelling.
