Terengganu Museum: A Window of Terengganu's History and Culture

Terengganu Museum is located at Bukit Losong, 5km from the town centre and is close to Taman Tamadun Islam at Pulau Wan Man. It was formed in 1976 and occupied a small building at the State secretariat in Bukit Pak Apil. Only in 1994, it moved to the present buildings, occupying 27 hectare site in Losong. The location is strategic as it is close to the river.

The building:wall and roof are unique..

Arrangement of the buildings depicts the family ties.

The buildings and its arrangement are unique and is the only museum that had that design. Its architecture is what the traditional house of Terengganu look like in those days. It gave the young generation the opportunity to appreciate its design and tradition.

The museum has 10 galleries. The galleries are textile, royal, craft, weapon, history, petroleum, islam, nature, maritime, fishery and marine park. I think not only Terengganu folks should visit this museum but others as well. If you think learning is fun, why not visit this museum. For further information you can click to http://www.museum.terengganu.gov.my

Museum opens on weekdays during office hours and its entrance fee is only RM3.00. You can take a taxi or a town bus to go there. Happy travelling.
